What is Rent?
Rent is a new transportation offering by Grab that allows you to Rent a vehicle with driver for a selected duration of time for your city travels. The driver will stay dedicated to you throughout your booking period and will make as many stopovers as needed.
What does Rent include?
Rent is inclusive of vehicle, driver, petrol, and meals. Rent does not include attraction ticket passes, toll and parking fees.
What kind of vehicle models are available to book?
Rent is available for tuktuk and car like Camry and Lexus RX300. Customers will be allocated based on the chosen vehicle type and availability.
Can I book a Rent service without the Grab app?
As of now, booking is only possible in the Grab app.
How am I charged for my Rent booking?
Grab offers different pricing based on the hours and packages you would like the vehicle for. There is a base fare for the duration you have booked. The tolls and parking fees are to be paid extra by the customers.
Do I need to pay any additional tip to the driver?
No, the base fare of your Rent booking already covers driver tips. Any additional tipping is non mandatory and solely on the discretion of the customer.
As a repeat customer, can I request for a particular driver for my next trip?
At Grab, we make efforts to ensure all our drivers live up to a certain standard of service. It is not possible to request for a specific driver, as the driver allocated to you depends on supply availability around your pick-up location. You can, however; be assured that all Rent drivers are professional and well trained to give you the great experiences.
How long can I extend my Rent booking?
You can extend your Rent booking by up to 1 hour over and above package. Extension beyond this time period would depend on the discretion of the driver. We encourage you to book for slightly greater time period than you need as it will be economically a better option then paying overtime charges.
Will my driver be able to serve as a tourist guide?
Although some drivers may have knowledge of various places in the city, they are not trained tourist guides. We would recommend you to have your itinerary planned and researched if you are taking the vehicle for tourism purposes.
Who do I contact if I have fare related disputes with the driver?
If driver demands excess money over and above the generated bill please report this incident to our customer support through phone call or email. If you have a dispute regarding the bill, please send your concern to our customer support team through the app or phone – we shall take another look at it and get back to you with payment correction, if any.
Side dealings?
Grab will NOT tolerate any side dealing within Grab booking. Please report and Grab will directly take action.
What should I do if my driver refuses to go to a certain destination?
- Please contact our customer experience team
- Grab will investigate case-by-case
- To avoid such things, please clearly communicate in advance regarding your trip details (destination, drop off, transit time).
What should I do if my driver refuses to do extra time?
- Based on terms and conditions, driver has to accept at the minimum of 1 hour extra-time for safety reasons.
- Beyond that time period, driver is allowed to decide whether to accept or not the extra time. This is for driver health and your safety. Therefore, please plan the duration wisely and order the duration based on your need.
What should I do if the driver could not be contacted while in-transit?
- Please contact our customer experience team
- They confirm your booking
- They will call to driver 3 times; if they can not reach to driver:
- They cancel the booking for you, and you may need to re-book.
- To avoid such things, please follow these tips:
- Do ask driver for other alternative communication methods (WA number).
- Clearly communicate in advance regarding your trip details (destination, drop off, transit time).
- Make a report if driver went missing and Grab will evaluate and take action case-by-case.
